We’re pleased to announce that Anna Klas has been awarded a 2018 Deakin Science and Society Network Establishment Grant. The grant will fund Anna’s attendance at the Australasian Society of Behavioural Medicine Annual Meeting in Christchurch in 2019.

Reflections on UQ Open Science from our lab member Maddie North

Our fantastic group of 4th year students submitted their theses today. All of them put a tremendous amount of work into their projects and should be very proud of what they’ve achieved.

Congratulations to 2018 Misinformation Lab Honours Student, Raissa Donadon Berne, who was awarded a Deakin University Faculty of Health Honours Publication Award. The Faculty of Health Honours Publication Award is a prestigious award that recognises a significant level of academic achievement by the individual at University.

Lab members Dr Anna Klas and Dr Eddie Clarke gave an invited presentation to La Trobe’s Social Psych group on Friday the 31st of August, 2018 Their joint presentation focused on presenting preliminary work conducted by the Misinformation Lab regarding the influence of politically motivated reasoning across domains.

Over the past two weeks our 4th year students have been presenting their thesis progress to the lab. They did a fantastic job explaining the background to their projects and the plans for the remainder of the year.

Maddie will be completing a Master of Applied Science on the topic “Investigating How Social Norms and Vegan Stereotypes Contribute Towards Motivation to Reduce Animal Product Consumption” under the supervision of Emily Kothe, Anna Klas, and Mathew Ling and starts her candidature today.

The award is for Anna’s PhD thesis entitled “Pro-environmentalism: Environmentalist Social Identity, Environmentalist Stereotypes, and Green Consumerism Engagement” which she submitted in October 2016 and graduated from in June 2017.
